Vision

Revolutionizing the Conventional Surgical Practice
through the Information Revolution

In the age of unprecedented innovation in information technology,
we are bringing cutting-edge technology
in the world of surgery.

We will change conventional wisdom and contribute to dramatic advances in surgery.

We aim to provide safe, high-quality surgery for all.

History

Aiming for “a world
where anyone can receive safe and secure surgery”

Jmees was founded from a meeting between an AI engineer and a surgeon.

They are Hiroki Matsuzaki,an AI engineer who wanted to change the future of medicine
with deep learning and image recognition technology,
and Masaaki Ito and Nobuyoshi Takeshita, surgeons who wanted to change the future of surgery
with innovations at the National Cancer Research Center Hospital East .

While dreaming of “surgical automation” in the distant future,
we continue to develop solutions that will make surgeries more uniform, more efficient, and safer,
with the aim of creating a world where anyone can undergo safe and secure surgery.

Message

Surgery in Japan is among the highest quality in the world, thanks to the dedication of its surgeons, in addition to its medical facilities and educational system.

However, the number of patients continues to increase while the number of physicians decreases. In addition, minimally invasive surgery, as typified by robotic surgery, has become more common, increasing the technical burden on surgeons. Under these circumstances, the surgical field is constantly exposed to the risk of loss of life and health, and accidents resulting in organ damage during surgery are not going away.

Jmees’ endoscopic support program, SurVis™️, will be a good consultant and partner for surgeons, and we hope to realize that the synergy between surgeons and AI will maximize surgical performance. We aim to remake the common sense of surgery with technology and create a world where all people can undergo safe and secure surgeries.

Solution

AI-based surgical support system

In conventional surgery, a skilled surgeon’s ability to recognize anatomical structures,
plan the surgical process, and make decisions during the procedure are all tacit knowledge,
so it takes a great deal of experience to master them.

SurVis™︎, an endoscopic surgery support program developed by Jmees,
uses AI to analyze endoscopic surgery images in real time to support the surgeon’s ability to recognize organs,
thereby enabling safer surgery.
